ABOUT

All new management

With all new owners at the helm, we look forward to welcoming you to a refreshed version of your local pub.

Split in to 2 distinct areas, our ground floor bistro and sports bar cater separately to both diners and sports enthusiasts.

Our Bistro boasts an all new semi-outdoor kids playground, arcade games and a pizza party room; all highly visible through floor to ceiling windows. Parents can relax, drink, dine and unwind whilst watching their kids enjoy activities for all ages in full sight.

The Sports Bar is a haven for all sporting enthusiasts with dual TV walls that are the envy of our competitors. A welcoming, friendly bar; the area also has ample outdoor space and features a high rotation of sports from all over the globe. Our fully equipped TAB is at the ready, and we’re open until 4am Monday through to Saturday.

On the first floor, our pub style accommodation has been recently refurbished and offers affordable, comfortable rooms with a mix of both ensuite rooms and shared bathroom amenities.

It's been a long hard slog these past few months, and we've been working tirelessly in the background to develop an invigorated, family friendly, casual pub experience that the locals deserve.

THE REAL FIVE ISLANDS

With Port Kembla beach less than 10 minutes drive, local nature abounds in the area. Our Hotel is named after the beautiful “Five Islands Nature Reserve”. The reserve includes five small islands clustered off the coast of Port Kembla. As described here “the five islands are Flinders Islet, Bass Islet, Martin Islet, Big Island and Rocky Islet, which together make up an area of approximately 26 hectares.

Five Islands Nature Reserve is of significance for its biological values. It provides habitat and breeding sites for the threatened sooty oystercatcher, breeding sites for the wedge-tailed shearwater and short-tailed shearwater and habitat for the whitebellied sea-eagle.

Five Islands Nature Reserve is also of importance to the Aboriginal community due to “continuing cultural associations and past occupation of the area.”
